LOWICK VILLAGE OPEN DAY - 2PM TO 6PM, SATURDAY 1 JUNE 2008
Join us for a unique opportunity to see what Lowick is like 'behind the scenes'
If you have ever been to Lowick you will know that it is a typical English 'Chocolate Box' village boasting pretty thatched cottages and listed buildings. This is your chance to see the beautiful gardens, and other surpirses, that are hidden from view behind the walls and fences.
There is more to our open day than gardens, there will be cream teas and ice cream on the lawns, a children's treasure hunt, pony-rides and a quiz about Lowick, with all the answers to the questions hidden around the village.
Join Ciaran and Rhiannon, Lowick's resident bespoke furniture makers, for a barbeque and open workshop where you will be able to chat with them and see some of their stunning pieces being made; visit their website www.sylph-furniture.co.uk to find out more about them and the work they do!
If you get tired of walking and want to explore a little further, you will be able to enjoy a leisurely horse and carriage ride through the village and park, up to the spectacular Drayton House stately home and back again.
You will also be able to choose and buy a section of St Peter's Church roof - go to the donations page to find out more about owning a part of the church roof.
Once you have arrived and paid your entry fee you will be given a map with details and directions to the gardens that are open and those that are 'over the fence' (entry fees: £1 for adults, 50 pence for children over 5 years, no charge for under 5s).
If you have never been to Lowick or only just passed-through, why not drop in on the 1st? You can be assured of a warm welcome; we look forward to seeing you!
